In order to 'fix' Zerg, what really needs to happen is something to increase the APM tax of Zerg's strengths. If you can hold a base lead as Zerg and deny the opponent from expanding, you win. So basically every ZvX game right now comes down to, did they do enough damage to set the zerg so far behind that 12 corruptors, 8 broods, and the rest infestors can't steamroll whatever is thrown at them, and can the zerg control/split their army effectively enough to deal with the death by 1000 cuts that is attempted because it's impossible to straight up win a fight with bl/festor/corruptor without better control than the zerg player. This means that if a skytoss player is out of position once, and zerg catches it, fungal, IT and boom the entire golden armada evaporates.

bls zone stuff, corruptors act as a meat shield, roaches deal with runbys, and then infestors act as secondary detection and hard punish bad positioning with fungal, the highest dps AA in the game for energy (infested terran), and instant high value target neutralization (neural). With similar quality control between the zerg and the other race, bl/infestor cannot lose a straight up fight right now. This is all my opinion, as a person who doesn't even play 1v1 anymore, just watches most every game in every top tournament from the Ro16 up.įor zerg right now, if you play an even game, and reach late game at an relatively even economy/losses/etc, the zerg is ahead purely because of infestor efficiency.
